Why Dronewerks?
Dronewerks is the result of 3 drone freaks getting to know each other at a freezing winter drone meetup. We shared the same passion to step into the professional video production business.
Since start of 2024 we offer drone video services next to our day jobs. By now we managed to complete over 10 projects with great fun.
Have a look at our website or YouTube to see more details.
Some extracts from the figma brand design phase The beginning
After we commited on a plan and name for the company, I started to design the company CI and then the website presence.
A quick and simple website to present Dronewerks and our sevice offerings was helpful to acquire first clients.
I decided to go for a combination of Astro with Tailwind CSS as frontend, while managing the content via TinaCMS and GitHub.
This was a lean, but capable setup still allowing us to collaborate on the content.

After some time we managed to complete the first projects and noticed that we are complementary in our ways of working, so we continued our endeavours.
By now we managed to establish some processes and define a proven set of gear for various kinds of applications.
We offer all kinds of drone video services, from:
- providing the drone footage video productions with large teams
- to offering an all around production, coming from marketing goals over shooting day planning to editing and the final video
Our drone fleet is as divers as our services:
- from small and nimble sub 250g naked Gopro cinewhoops
- to full on octacopters, able to carry RED KOMODO cameras
Takeaways
With Dronewerks we are wetting our feet in the video production industry, which is super cool as I always envied all the creators on YouTube making a living with drone video content.
Working together with 2 other likeminded people is really fun, but teaches you in communication and project organizing. I would never have thought that working collaboratively on a video project in 2025 is still that tedious, as the files involved tend do be very big file sizes.
Aligning creativity and ideas to the legal constraints is also an interesting challenge, although you get the hang of it quickly.
